Sylvan Educational Foundation

SAVE THE DATE: Annual Gourmet Breakfast and Kids Fun Run will be on Saturday, February 23, 2019!

The mission of the Sylvan Educational Foundation (SEF) is to provide educational enhancement, professional enrichment, and community involvement in support of our children.

The Sylvan Educational Foundation (SEF) is an independent, non-profit, all volunteer organization founded in 1992 to counteract state budget cuts that stripped school districts of public funding for “educational extras.”

The SEF is dedicated to providing extra support which creates a quality educational experience for our students.

Our purpose is to impact the lives of our students by getting them excited about and participating in opportunities which broaden their education.

We see our efforts impacting the education of our children by giving them opportunities to explore and grow in ways they wouldn’t have had a chance to without the resources we provide.

The SEF board meets year-round, once a month. SEF organizes and staffs the annual pancake breakfast and fireworks booth, all through volunteer support. These fundraising events generate the money to support district-wide grants, 3rd-grade dance program, leadership initiatives, and other student focused programs.

WE WANT YOU TO JOIN!

Our Next Meeting is on Monday, November 5th at 6:00 pm in the Staff Development Room at the District Office located at 605 Sylvan Avenue, Modesto.

If you would like to help support the Sylvan Educational Foundation or would like more information on how to get involved, please contact Velma Beck at 574-5000 ext. 202 or by email at vbeck@sylvan.k12.ca.us

Our 2018 Gourmet Breakfast and Kids Fun Run was a lot of fun and a huge success!

 THE SYLVAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

The Sylvan Union School District is proud of the support it receives from the Sylvan Educational Foundation. The Foundation is an independent, non-profit, all volunteer organization founded in 1992 to counteract state budget cuts that stripped school districts of public funding for “educational extras.” The Sylvan Union School District prides itself on being able to provide its students with program enrichments (the arts and field trips), they deserve. Some of these programs and services are not normally financed with tax dollars. Funds are raised by donations from community & business members, various events, grants & employee/employer matching programs. Since its inception the foundation has contributed over $250,000 towards programs the District could not fund alone.
